Restorative Yoga: For PCOS & My Why

Restorative yoga is a gentle and therapeutic form focusing on relaxation and reducing stress. It involves holding poses for an extended period with props, allowing the body to relax and release tension. Restorative yoga can be particularly beneficial for women's hormonal health, especially for conditions such as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

It promotes stress reduction, improved sleep quality, enhanced emotional well-being, and can support weight management. While it's not a replacement for medical treatment, the empowerment that comes from incorporating restorative yoga into a holistic approach to managing PCOS is genuinely transformative.

My Why

I was bone-weary, soul-tired, and uninspired. I started to avoid my yoga mat. After working long hours, walking miles daily, and problem-solving my brain to mush, the last thing I wanted to do was move. I tried to rest. I felt ungrounded and lost, so I began to explore meditation, finding stillness, and embarking on a profound journey of discovery through restorative yoga.

I fell in love with stillness. With the softness of a quiet practice. With asking for and receiving support. I fell in love with my breath and discovered deeper awareness and acceptance. I fell in love with not having to push through movement that no longer resonated with me. And I fell in love with recognizing what my soul needed and not what I “should” be doing. And my love for this practice grew to encapsulate others. I wanted to share this newfound place of peace and offer a safe space to those earning less.

Let me be your guide to a new level of self-care. To a practice of self-love and acceptance. Let me create a space and time for you to let go and rest. It is used to rebalance the nervous system and regulate the stress response. To focus on releasing and finding optimal comfort. This is an invitation to focus inward on your breath and allow one moment to breathe into the next, bringing a sense of calm and centeredness.

I’m here when you are ready.
